Over the years we've learned that finding investors for a business considered, by both name and nature, to be niche can be a little more challenging than it might be for a more conventional hospitality business.
But the market has changed enormously since Niche began. Coeliac disease, food allergies and dietary requirements are increasingly part of everyday life, and the demand for genuinely inclusive food continues to grow. What was once considered specialist is becoming increasingly mainstream, while expectations have changed too. People don't want a disappointing alternative or a meal that feels somehow different from everybody else's. They simply want great food, genuine hospitality and the confidence to enjoy both.
We have ambitious plans for Niche and believe there is a considerable opportunity to take what we've learned and built over many years much further. That requires investment, but we're interested in much more than money.
We want to work with people who understand what we do and have some empathy with where we're going. Life is too short to work with people whose involvement is purely transactional. We believe in great food and genuine hospitality, and we'd like our investors and partners to understand why those things matter.
Equally, we don't pretend to know everything. As we grow, we need expertise we don't have ourselves. That could be in finance, property, marketing, hospitality, retail, technology or something we haven't yet considered. We've never been shy about bringing talented people into the business who know more than we do. Investment accompanied by experience, ideas, contacts and constructive challenge can be considerably more valuable than capital alone.
Niche has already evolved far beyond the restaurant we originally opened. We see opportunities for further restaurants, delivery, events, workplace catering, retail and other ways of taking the Niche brand and philosophy to a much wider audience.
We have plans. Big plans. And we're interested in meeting the right people to help us realise them.If you think you might be one of them, we'd love to start a conversation.
